 | Blue skies and mild temps greeted the fifteen foursomes that gathered for the 1st Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, October 12 at Saddle Creek Golf Club. The event, hosted by the Lincoln County Health System Foundation, raised approximately $11,000 for the Dr. William M. Young Scholarship Program.
"The Board of Directors wishes to express its appreciation for the tremendous support that the Lincoln County Health System Foundation received from the participants and sponsors for our 1st Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament” stated Marion Anderton, Foundation President and Co-Chair for the Tournament. “This endeavor has allowed the Foundation to begin an endowment process that will be financially beneficial to some future graduates of Lincoln County High School as they pursue their college career.”
“The funds that are raised from this project will be used exclusively to award graduate(s) of Lincoln County High School in assisting their desire for a career in the medical and health care profession", Anderton added.
Throughout the course there were 4 hole-in-one prizes offered, with potential prizes including a cruise and $5,000 cash. Other contests were “Longest Drive” and “Closest to Pin”, both won by Joe Liggett of Cordova, Tennessee. |
