| Foundation Celebrates Completion of Bus Project |

 | The Lincoln County Health System Foundation recently celebrated the completion of the "Keep It Rollin'" Bus Project. The project was to purchase a handicap bus for Lincoln and Donalson Care Center Residents.
Over the past year, the Foundation has been a part of several fund-raisers, many of them through several community groups. "It's a Celebration! The dream has come true!", states Carol Foster, Chair of the Bus Project. "Without the support of our community, this project would have never come to life."
In January of 2005, the Foundation Board set a goal of $70,000 to purchase this bus. The campaign was so successful that, not only was the Foundation able to purchase the Bus, but to also help purchase a handicap van for care center residents by raising $86,000.
"I get on the bus every time it goes", states Mattie Moorehead, resident at Lincoln Care Center. "Without the bus, I would never get to leave."
After enjoying the celebration of the project at Lincoln Care Center, those present were reminded of what the project was for - as the ladies of the "Red Hat Society" at Lincoln Care Center, with smiles on their faces, loaded up for a field trip made possible by the new bus. |
