 | July 3, 2008, Fayetteville, Tennessee – Gary G. Kendrick, CEO, Lincoln County Health System, has recently accepted a position with Daviess Memorial Hospital in Washington, Indiana. Kendrick will assume his position as CEO there on August 11, 2008.
QHR, the hospital’s management services provider, will conduct a national search for a permanent CEO for Lincoln County Health System. The hospital board will be closely involved to find the best candidate for this hospital and community. There is no current time frame for the search to be completed. Clayton Wilson, Chairman, Lincoln County Health System Board of Trustees, explained, “QHR’s management services provides interim resources to minimize disruption within the hospital while allowing the board time to choose a CEO that can meet our needs, and fill the significant role Kendrick has played in the hospital and in the community.”
Kendrick began working for Lincoln County Health System in December, 1995 as the interim CEO and later accepted the position as CEO. During his twelve plus years at Lincoln County Health System, he has worked to increase the physician community from seventeen active physicians in 1995 to a current thirty-five physicians on active staff in 2008, along with a large number of consulting physicians in many specialties. He directed the design and construction of the $26 million dollar medical campus consisting of Lincoln Medical Center, medical office building, laundry building, and emergency medical services building.
Kendrick led the addition of new services including: behavioral health, both inpatient and outpatient; a sleep disorder clinic; an in-patient MRI unit; and a PAC system in the diagnostic imaging department. He was also very instrumental in the implementation and growth of the Lincoln County Health System Foundation.
“Gary’s enthusiasm and vision has done great things for healthcare in our community.” Wilson adds. “His leadership and direction throughout the past twelve years has brought Lincoln County Health System to the state-of-the-art level of care it is today and he will be greatly missed.”
Both Gary and his wife, Diane are from Indiana, one of the reasons this position appealed to him. “This has been a very difficult decision.” Kendrick notes. “Our family has felt honored to be able to call Lincoln County home for several years and will miss the many friendships throughout the health system and the community.”
Daviess Community Hospital is a 95 bed hospital currently managed by QHR (Quorum Health Resources). QHR is located in Brentwood, Tennessee.
