Stefanie Brown Named to Med/Surg Director
Lincoln Medical Center (LMC) announces Stefanie Brown, MSN, RN, as the new Director of the Medical/Surgical Unit. Brown is currently the director of the OB Department and has accepted the additional role here at Lincoln Medical Center. “I am so pleased that Stefanie agreed to take on the responsibility of the Med Surg Department in addition to her role as the OB Director” stated, Vicky Groce MSN,CRNP, Chief Nursing Officer of Lincoln County Health System. “Stefanie has proven herself as a strong leader and I am confident she will excel in her expanded role.”
Brown earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Motlow State Community College in 2002 and her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) in 2003. Brown obtained her Master’s of Science in Nursing from UAH with concentration in Nursing Leadership in December 2007. She is a member of the Tennessee Nurses’ Association, American Nurses’ Association, Sigma Theta Tau, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses and the National Scholars Honors Society.
Brown began her nursing career with the Lincoln County Health System as a Nurse Tech in 1992. This inspired her to pursue nursing as a profession. Upon graduation from Motlow, she began working as a staff RN on the Medical/Surgical Unit at LMC. Since October 2004, she has been working in a nurse management position.
Brown States, “Lincoln Medical Center gives me the opportunity to pursue my profession in Nursing Leadership and be a part of the growing healthcare system right here in my hometown. I feel that quality patient care is a priority of any health care system and I use this as a driving force in my own management style.” Her goals include identifying, planning, and implementing strategies to sustain excellence in the overall delivery of patient care.
Brown and her husband Rickey, a lineman with the Fayetteville Public Utilities for 15 years, have four children: son J.W., 26, daughter Kaycee, 21, daughter Katelynn, 16, and son Will, 14. Brown states that she “enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and attending her son’s baseball games, as well as participating in church activities.
