Medical Services

Pharmacy

The Hospital maintains a pharmacy under the direction of a registered pharmacist. A licensed nurse, under doctor’s orders, will dispense your medications to you.

Radiology

A trained radiologist and registered technologist using state-of-the-art equipment perform radiology service such as routine x-rays, MRI Scanning, CT Scanning, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and Mammography. An experienced, qualified radiologist interprets all studies.

You will receive a separate bill from the radiologist for his/her services in addition to your regular hospital bill.

Physical Therapy

Lincoln Medical Center offers physical therapy services through members of the Patrick Rehab-Wellness staff, who may visit you in your room to provide treatments as ordered by your doctor. For some treatments, such as whirlpools, you may be transported to the physical therapy department within the Hospital.

Laboratory

The Hospital laboratory is CAP and AABB accredited. Qualified and committed technologists and technicians who specialize in the field of laboratory medicine conduct a wide range of diagnostic testing for our patients. Supported by modern, sophisticated equipment, these tests give physicians the information needed to help plan our treatment.

The laboratory maintains the hospital's blood bank, stocked by the American Red Cross. All blood products meet strict FDA testing guidelines to assure you of the safest blood products available. Patients receiving transfusions are charged only for the processing of the blood products and supplies needed to perform the transfusion.

Some specimens require a pathologist's examination. The pathologist bills separately and directly to the patient for his/her services.

Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory therapists work closely with your physician to monitor oxygen levels in your blood, keep your breathing passages cleared, provide testing for patients with lung disorders, and provide ventilators for the most critically ill patients who cannot breathe without assistance.

Intensive Care Unit

Lincoln Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit offers TV-screen heart monitoring for up to six patients and has the capability of monitoring less ill patients in regular patient rooms. Registered and licensed practical nurses with special training in cardiac monitoring administer medications and monitor patients' progress under the guidance of physicians.

Surgery Department

If you are scheduled for surgery while in the hospital, feel free to ask questions of the staff and your doctor about the procedure and what to expect. You will receive educational materials about your surgery and your recovery.

Before surgery, a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) will visit you to discuss the anesthesia to be used for your procedure and your medical history. You will receive a separate bill for anesthesia services. After surgery you will spend some time in the recovery area before being returned to your room.

Outpatient surgery is a popular alternative for many procedures, but some surgeries do require hospitalization.

Surgeries currently performed at Lincoln Medical Center on an outpatient basis include D & C's, breast biopsies, tonsillectomies, simple hernia repairs, needle biopsy, laparoscopic exams, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, carpal tunnel, bone marrow biopsy, Dupuytren's contracture, foot surgery, cataract surgery, eye muscle surgery, tubal ligation and others. Your surgeon will have full information on this matter.

EKG Department

EKG's (electrocardiograms), stress testing (graded exercise tolerance tests), Holter monitoring, echocardiograms, and vascular imaging with Doppler studies are all diagnostic procedures used by physicians at LMC to get a complete picture of your cardiovascular condition. These studies are conducted by trained technicians, some requiring a physician's presence, and interpreted by internal medicine specialists. Some of these tests can be performed in your hospital room, or you may be transported to the EKG department.
