Click on Idol Logo for the Brochure! | July 3, 2008 - Lincoln County Health System Foundation announces the Second Annual “Lincoln County Idol” singing competition to be held on Saturday, August 16th at Ninth Grade Academy.
“We’re very excited to bring this competition back to Lincoln County”, states Christy O’Neal, President of the Foundation. “Last year’s Idol competition proved to be a wonderfully entertaining and successful event”, continues O’Neal. “We have been working to make this event even bigger and better this year.”
Auditions for Lincoln County Idol will be held on August 12th and 14th with twenty finalists chosen to compete in the Saturday evening event. There is a $25 participant fee for each contestant.
This year’s judges are, once again, from the Nashville Music Industry, including Teddy Gentry, of the group Alabama; Ed Benson, Chief Strategic Officer for the Country Music Association; and Brandi Simms, President of the Woman’s Music Business Association. Judges will decide the top 20, however, the winner will be chosen by ballots from the audience on August 16.
The winner of Lincoln County Idol will be the opening performer at the Saturday evening, September 6, 2008 Lincoln County Fair concert, will receive $300 cash, and passes to the 2009 CMA Music Festival.
Tickets to the Idol event are Adults $7, and Children $5.
Auditions are open to the public for $5.00 per person admission at the door.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lincoln Medical Center – St. Thomas Chest Pain Center Project adopted by the Foundation.
